There is too much world between us.
From me, you are a 2-minute cycle ride,
an overnight express train,
a 2-hour direct bus,
and a doorbell away.
From you, I am a 2-hour cab ride,
zero layover flight,
another cab ride,
and a knock on the door,
because my doorbell often fails me, away.
My words reach you before I do,
in a time-less, space-less sort of world,
and I wonder,
how tall must your front door be,
how small will I seem in front of it, waiting.
