In the metro, leaving after goodbye
to a friend I once shared a flat with
but now meet only in strange
corners of the city, my life,
specially the parts yet to happen,
flash on the long, soft-edged window,
like a film someone started, forgot to
pause, and left. The story is
unoriginal, the scenes repetitive.
The hero just got off a metro
for the thousandth time.

I might skip to the end.
